A stainless steel rolling mill discovered cracks in the fabricated gearwheel of one its winder gearboxes, and with no spare available UED were called in to expedite the design, manufacture and installation of a new gearwheel, output shaft and pinion shaft in an unprecedented lead time of under sixteen weeks.

Forgings were imported from Spain and the gearwheel was fabricated, machined and gearcut in the UK, final delivery of all components being made in time for installation during a scheduled shutdown period.
